"Do You Have Recommendations On What To Do In London?" ~ Why Yes.... I Do!
/I love it when friends and loved ones ask me this question and I absolutely love putting recommendations together for them because I love London and our experiences here so much. I get asked this so often, that I thought, why not make it into a post. We have only been here for two years and there is still so much we need to see, but here is a first list of recommendations from my perspective… And that’s as a mum living in West London (Hammersmith). There will be plenty more recommendations to come, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy this list!
sunday roast
This is probably my absolute favourite thing we’ve established as a tradition here in London. Sunday Roast is warmth, cosiness, incredible comfort food and basically a giant hug. Most of the pubs have Sunday Roast and while we’ve visited several pubs across London for our Roast, we ultimately decided to stick to our neighbourhood. Whenever guests are in town, we tend to always be sure they get to experience the pleasures of Sunday Roast too. We live in Hammersmith and have a favourite pub we are regulars at, and that’s The Dartmouth Castle (the roast chicken oh my goodness + incredible staff + great music), but we also love The Dove along the Thames River Path, The Queen’s Head in Brook Green/Hammersmith, The Stonemasons Arms and The Andover Arms. All are child-friendly and treat my son so well too. After enjoying a morning at Holland Park one morning, we also stumbled upon the Crown and Sceptre for Sunday Roast and absolutely loved this cosy pub too.
You can find a pub to have Sunday Roast at in every London neighbourhood, nook and cranny, and of course, all throughout England as well.
Barnes Pond and Saturday Farmers Market
Barnes is a London hidden-secret and a Top-3 favourite neighbourhood. Charm galore (and don’t forget bread and seeds for the swans and ducks)! More on the Farmers Market here.
Camden Market
In another world, but still in London (just a wee bit up north) you will find the Camden Market. Incredibly alive with loads of people, art, music, food, and of course, market shopping. We LOVE the Camden Market and encourage you to make your way to it.
